The Right Fit

BARKERS DENIM
FIT GUIDE

A good pair of jeans is none of the hardest-working items in your wardrobe. The right fit should feel easy, look sharp, and work across more than one part of your week. That’s why our denim range keeps things simple – four considered fits, each designed with a different way of wearing denim in mind. From streamlined and modern to relaxed and easy, here’s how to find the one that suits you best.

RAMBLER – SLIM FIT

Clean, modern, and close to the leg.

The Rambler is our slim fit jean, designed to sit close through the
hip and thigh with a narrow leg opening. It’s streamlined without going full skinny – the kind of silhouette that looks sharp without feeling restrictive.

When to wear them:
The Rambler works best when you want a more refined look from your denim. Think dinners, date nights, or days when a shirt and jacket are part of the plan. It pairs naturally with
slimmer footwear too – Chelsea boots, leather sneakers, or loafers.

Who they suit:
Great for slimmer or athletic builds, or for anyone who prefers a
more tailored silhouette.

NOMAD – TAPER FIT

The balance between comfort and shape.

The Nomad is a mid-waist tapered jean, with room through the seat and thigh before narrowing toward the ankle. It gives you the clean look of a slim fit but with extra space where you need it.

When to wear them:
This is the all-rounder. Easy to dress up with a shirt and blazer or wear casually with a tee and overshirt. If you want one pair that works across the week, the Nomad is usually it.

Who they suit:
Ideal for guys who want a slimmer silhouette but prefer more movement through the leg – especially if you’ve got a more athletic build.

WANDERER – STRAIGHT FIT

The timeless classic.

The Wanderer is a regular straight fit with a mid-rise waist and a clean line from the knee down. Relaxed without feeling loose, it’s a classic shape that never really goes out of style.

When to wear them:
This is denim at its most versatile. It works just as well with a tee and boots as it does layered with shirts, knitwear, or jackets in the cooler months.

Who they suit:
If you prefer a little more room or like a traditional denim silhouette, this is the one. It’s easy, balanced, and flattering on most body types.

DRIFTER – RELAXED FIT

Laid-back with a bit of attitude.

The Drifter is our most relaxed fit, cut with room through the seat and thigh and a looser leg all the way down. It’s designed for comfort, movement, and a slightly more casual look.

When to wear them:
Perfect for weekends, travel, or days when comfort is the priority. Pair it with tees, sweats, or heavier outerwear for an easy off-duty feel.

Who they suit:
Anyone who prefers a looser fit or wants a more relaxed approach to denim.

GETTING THE FIT RIGHT

Even the best jeans only work if they fit properly. A few small details make a big difference.

Where they should sit:
Your jeans should sit comfortably at the waist without digging in or sliding down, with enough room through the leg to move freely.

The right length:
As a general rule, denim should sit at or just below the ankle. A clean break above your shoes will keep the silhouette sharp.

Try them with your usual shoes:
The footwear you wear most often changes how denim sits and breaks – so it’s worth trying jeans on with those shoes in mind.

Tailoring makes the difference:
A quick hem can completely refine the look of a pair of jeans. Once you find your fit, small alterations can make them feel custom-made.
